THE “OFFISH” BIO

With a decade of bicoastal experience in production and a background in luxury weddings, Belinda has coordinated a range of events including charity galas, Mitzvahs, celebrity parties, influencer events, branded activations, pop-ups, conferences, networking socials, and weddings.

After settling back in Los Angeles in 2018, Belinda sought to create a company that thought about events as a moment in a much bigger picture. She saw that the industry as a whole only felt accountable for ‘that one day’ and not much thought was given to the waste produced from events. Belinda wanted to connect with other like-minded professionals to start a movement of more conscious celebrations. Opus Events Co was then born.

Along with event planning, Belinda is also a professionally-trained opera singer. Coordinating weddings was a natural transition from the opera world after working on productions built around imagining immersive experiences for others. Her love of bringing creative visions to life fuels her desire for unique and innovative celebrations.

In her free time, Belinda is an amateur astrologer, practices pole, enjoys meditation and yoga, sings in a community choir, and tends to her worm compost and homemade kombucha.

IN MY VOICE

I identify as a first-generation Chinese American and queer, neurodivergent femme and creative.
I most often hear that I'm calm, organized, and the therapist my couples didn't know they needed! I think my calm comes from years of practicing Vipassana meditation, my experience in high stress environments, and my work with trauma. It's honestly a good counter to my type-A side! For me, planning is a balance of striving for excellence and letting go of the things I cannot control. My goal is to take over as much of the logistical burden of wedding planning so you two can enjoy the process. I like to keep my meetings conversational and occasionally my potty mouth makes an appearance.
I have an affinity for an eclectic mix of modern and vintage styles and gravitate toward natural materials, elements with living components, and pops of color. Some of my favorite designers and makers include Justina Blakeney, Kelly Wearstler, Zia Tile, Flamingo Estate, and Yasmine Mei.
I aim for events that feel current but also timeless. I often work with other creatives so the design process ends up taking a collaborative approach. Sometimes couples come to me with ideas that they have no clue how to execute so just think of me as the ‘Manifestation Kween’ who curates, transforms, and elevates your Pinterest inspo. I like designing from the inside-out and enjoy getting to know my couples to create something that speaks to them and their relationship. I consider the design process my play space to create something truly unique to you.
